AIM

To teach basic components of highway and road geometric standards, to prepare route surveying, to draw highway design project

CONTENT

This course contains; Fundamentals of transportation engineering,General definitions and terminology,Fundamentals of highway engineering,Vehicle and road characteristics,Horizontal alignment (highway location survey),Highway geometric design,Route allocation and horizontal alignment,Horizontal curve - (1),Horizontal curve - (2),Transition curve,Vertical alignment,Vertical curve,Application of transition spirals and superelevation,Soil engineering for highway design, drainage and drainage systems.
