School of Engineering and Natural Sciences Department of Computer Engineering Lecturer Malek Malkawi’s cybersecurity startup ARS3 was granted second place prize at the finale of the “Inospark Cybersecurity & Fintech & Legaltech” program.

300,000 TL cash prize found its winners at the program, organized in partnership with TÜBİTAK Marmara Teknokent, Sabancı University Inovent, AKBANK LAB, and Kavlak Law Firm, which included 32 creative business ideas, projects, and initiatives in the focus areas of cyber security, finance, and legal technologies.

Inospark, where 80 participants selected from nearly 500 applications worked on 32 startup ideas, was held as a non-stop camp at Sabancı University Tuzla Campus, SUCool Incubation Center, on the weekend of December 23 and 24, 2023.

The program offered participants “Introduction to Innovation”, “Lean Startup Method” and “Making an Effective Presentation” training, as well as a support mechanism that included 20 mentors from various sectors. At the end of intense work, 12 teams that made it to the finals presented their business ideas to the jury.

Lect. Malek Malkawi was awarded the second place prize and 70,000 TL with his cybersecurity startup ARS3, a real-time, customizable security scanner.
