The collaborative work at Dr. Yonet-Tanyeri and Dr. Yamaner’s research groups aims to develop an ultrasound-guided imaging (diagnosis) and therapeutic (therapy) platform for cancer treatment. Briefly, polymer-based contrast enhancing agents will be developed and utilized as anti-cancer drug carriers. The novel sensor technology that will be integrated to this project will allow us to induce ultrasound-mediated drug release as well as high quality imaging of the cancerous tissue. The research team including Prof. Dr. Gazi Yigitbasi, the Medical Director for the Medipol Hospital-MEGA, Prof. Dr. Ertugrul Kilic, Director Deputy of the REMER and the faculty member at the Physiology Department, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Goksenin Yaralioglu from Ozyegin University at the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering plans to extent the project that will be applied in the future clinical studies.
